Anthar Kharana is a well-known Colombian musician, composer and multi-instrumentalist based in the UK, who has shared traditions from his homeland through music projects, workshops, performances and collaborations with many dancers and dance companies. A self-taught musician from the age of eight and coming from a lineage of artists in his family, Anthar embodies a wide range of music styles and a deep undertanding of melody and complex rhythms thanks to his passion for music from different parts of the world. He has also mastered a very wide vocal range from mellow femininity to growled Mongolian throat singing. Anthar is also a sound therapy practitioner, which has allowed him to explore the depth of music and sound as a healing tool over the last ten years with his own school, Tribal Sound Healing in the UK.
Currently Anthar can be seen dancing with Luca Silvestrini’s Protein Border Tales, in a UK tour of the show having finished a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2017.
