Protein’s unique form of dance theatre - combining text and movement in a unified and seamless way – and the technical demands of our work mean that our dance artists are ideally placed to support the development of dancers, choreographers and theatre artists in CAT, conservatoire and other forms of vocational training. As with all our workshops, we tailor the content to match the needs of the students and their particular areas of interest. These could include:
Creative practice and choreography
A focus on text
Learning Protein repertoire
A combination of any of these aspects of our work
In Action: DanceEast CAT
In February 2014, two Protein dance artists led a two day workshops with CAT students aged 10-18 at DanceEast in Ipswich. These workshops were based on Protein's contemporary technique and applied in movement work inspired by Border Tales, the current Protein show.
In April 2014, a Protein dance artist led the week long Easter Dynamics at The Place, which involved five days of class and repertoire, again based on Border Tales.
"I enjoyed all of it, it was great!"
"I learned lots, had loads of fun and hope to have a workshop with you again."
"I want to have them back to learn more."
Easter Dynamics @ The Place, London:
"Very enjoyable, great energy, ahcievable and challenging at the same time."
"I gained a lot of confidence in speaking and using text at the same time as movement."
"He [Protein's dance artist] connected the exercises from start to finish so it felt like a good build up and a great sense of achievement at the end."
