Embrace, our ongoing professional development programme includes practical and reflective work and allows space for sharing and debate around dance-making and community practice. We train our artists with specialist knowledge, refining their skills for our participation programme and open the training to the wider sector.
Our previous Embrace programmes have covered themes such as dance and dementia, safeguarding, working with young people attending Pupil Referral Units, working with refugees and asylum seekers, Emergency First Aid, emotional wellbeing for artists and inclusive dance practise. Luca Silvestrini and other prominent experts bring a wealth of experience to the programme. Organisations and speakers have included Creative Access, Company Chameleon, Counterpoints Arts, Dance United Yorkshire, Equity, Gendered Intelligence, Music for Life, Phosphorus Theatre, Shape Arts, Aida Silvestri, Adam Benjamin, Bradley Hemmings MBE, Charlotte Spencer, Diane Adams, Jeanefer-Jean Charles, Richard Coaten, Magdalena Shamberger, Zoe Gilmour and Nicole Murtagh.
