Refugee Week 2022

Protein invites you to our Refugee Week 2022 public events, celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.

Tuesday 21 June
11am to 4pm
Woolwich Common Community Centre, SE18 4DW
A day celebrating the Lewisham Refugee and Migrant Network with a Protein dance workshop at 11.30am alongside yoga, boxing, jewellery making and a free lunch (no booking required)

Thursday 23 June
10.30am to 12.30pm
People Dancing – on Zoom
Perspectives on Practice – Working with displaced communities: Protein and People Dancing present a practical workshop to enhance dance artists’ confidence and skillset when inviting refugee communities to take part in dance projects (tickets on sale here)

Saturday 25 June 
11am to 2pm
Woolwich Works, SE18 6HD
There and Here – A Celebration: A special event featuring the premiere of a documentary film about our performance project with refugees and asylum seekers earlier this year.  There will also be artist and refugee-led craft workshops and dance and music activities with a free buffet lunch. (Reserve a free ticket here)

Our public events will run alongside a private event for clients at Islington Centre for Refugees and Migrants.
The programme is part of Greenwich Borough of Sanctuary and is supported by Berkeley Group, Rebecca Dykes Foundation and Woolwich Works.
