Dear Body
Due to a last-minute copyright issue concerning our originally scheduled Dear Body, we are now pleased to broadcast Border Tales presented by Lakeside Arts and The Place Online.
Protein’s tenth anniversary production from 2008, Dear Body is a witty satire on our ever growing fixation with body image and body care.
Drawing inspiration from Luca Silvestrini’s B for Body, which won the Audience Vote in The Place Prize 2006, Dear Body continues that most private dialogue of all: the one we have with ourselves
Dear Body features innovative choreography, Protein’s trademark dark humour and distinctive video animation from award winning filmmaker Rachel Davies.
Played out by six outstanding dancers (including Sally Marie in the role that won her a National Dance Award nomination) and an ensemble cast of performers drawn from across the local community, Dear Body delivers a high-energy blow to our image-obsessed age.

The Guardian
“A rib-tickling dissection of the quest for the body beautiful”
