Embrace – Professional Development Training
Join Protein and guest creatives Magdalena Schamberger and Zoë Gilmour for an insightful two-day training focussing on approaches to creativity with older people living with dementia and in care settings.
Ahead of Protein’s tour to care homes, with their performance May Contain You, this training is an opportunity open to all creative practitioners to develop skills and understanding when working with older people in care settings.
Embrace, Protein’s ongoing professional development programme, includes practical and reflective work and allows space for sharing and discourse around artistic practice and community engagement.
More about the two days:
Location: Woolwich Works, The Fireworks Factory, 11 No.1 St, Royal Arsenal, London SE18 6HD

Memories: Galaxies, an interactive workshop about creative engagement with people living with dementia. In this session, Zoe will share some of her approaches and starting points when co-creating pieces based around memory, embodied reminiscence and life stories. In practical, thought-provoking group exercises, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the potential challenges of working creatively in care and health settings – and together find ways of navigating this complex galaxy with attention to consent and dignity.
