Home from Home presents Luca Silvestrini’s award winning In the End we Begin.

As part of HOST 2024, DanceEast’s biennial celebration of dance and age, EncoreEast’s Home from Home makes a come back with a specially re-visited version of In the End we Begin.
Home from Home emerged from HOST 2022. The project brought together older dancers from EncoreEast (Ipswich), Cadenza (Norwich), Damn Fine Dance (London), and The Place (London). In the End we Begin is the work made by Home from Home’s Artistic Director, Luca Silvestrini, embracing individual works by Alethia Antonia, Laura Anderson, Alleyne Dance, Molly Wright and Luke Birch. It premiered at DanceEast and toured to Norwich Playhouse and The Place in London in October 2023.
HOST 2024 will welcome over 80 participants and includes workshops led by two graduates from DanceEast’s Centre for Advanced Training who went on to professional training and careers, Richard Pye and Ollie Robertson.
The performance of In the End we Begin will take place at the end of HOST, at 5.45pm, and has a running time of 45 minutes. You are warmly invited to arrive anytime from 3.30pm onwards to watch film screenings in the Seminar Room (3.45pm – 4.45pm) and a performance by Brighton-based Three Score Dance Company outdoors in the courtyard behind the Jerwood DanceHouse (5.15pm – 5.35pm).
