Big Sale

Year of Production

2005

An irreverent tour of advertising, breaking news, political campaigns and cheap entertainment, Big Sale is a blitz on the media where seven performers struggle to separate fact from fiction.

Set to a score by David Coulter (The Pogues), and played out on a junk-yard playground stage set, Big Sale sees the cast of characters mutate at will – from political prisoners to TV Hosts, from market traders to sex workers.

Running time: 75 minutes

Reviews

“this show offers a restless rollercoaster ride through a society that’s lost its soul”
Metro
“the company approach their theme with an apocalyptic energy that’s by turns funny and alarming and intoxicating... I have rarely laughed so much.”
Independent on Sunday
“Bouncing on and off a scaffolding set, the pert and perky performers whip up a blackly humorous satire”
Metro
“The parallels that Silvestrini draws are so witty and persuasive… that the 70 minutes of dance, film and text gel into a refreshingly funny and thought-provoking piece of theatre”
Sunday Telegraph
